I was born and raised in New York City.

I attended Cornell University and received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and was on track to be a veterinarian. However in 1975, I was bit by a tick and got Lyme Disease. I suffered severe side effects of Lyme which at the time was not even named until 1983. I spent the first six months to a year almost disabled and crippled in pain.

I almost died.

I thought I had another disease and was told it would get better if I moved to warmer climate. With this in mind, I moved to Texas in 1976.

Out of desperation, I used the principles I learned for animals–nutrition, acupuncture and other methods–I observed and used during my time at Cornell. This gave me a thorough view of the body and being a lifelong learner, I had a thirst for learning more.

While working in Texas, I met a chiropractor who worked with joints, muscles and chronic pain and through him I became interested in learning to help myself much as I could.

In 1978 I enrolled in chiropractic college.

I became a chiropractor initially to treat myself. Through this entire experience, I then felt it was not only my calling but my duty to share the principles with others in pain and this is how my practice was born in 1982.
